Florence is a writer, designer and AI researcher, currently studying for a PhD at Queen Mary, funded by the IGGI Centre for Doctoral Training.
Their research focuses on procedural generation and game design, specifically how handwritten narratives can be combined with procedural ones, and how archaeology can inform game design, through the lens of making and studying generative archaeology games.
Prior to becoming an AI researcher, they have worked as a field archaeologist, heritage consultant and freelance games journalist. They are particularly interested in the application of archaeological methodologies as game mechanics and as a form of computational co-creativity.
